The After Deadline blog on NYTimes.com is a good read for any writer or aspiring writer. Each week, dude brings up lots of frequent mistakes and misconceptions.

On an unrelated note, I did a writeup for Adam Sandler’s new movie for tomorrow’s paper, and while I mentioned how Sandler’s basically the same guy in every movie, I made it a point to mention Punch Drunk Love, his one serious–and seriously good–film. But the sub editors cut the line. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Anyway, I was hoping that reference would get a few folks to check out Punch Drunk Love, a beautiful film starring Sandler, Emily Watson, and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Now I’ll have to do it on the blog.

Check it out, it’s great. And although Sandler was good in it, Hoffman steals the show, as always.
